Civil Wedding Ceremony in Tuscany

In Italy it is possible to have a valid civil wedding, which by law, must take place only in Town Halls which are often located in historical Palaces and ancient buildings which offer an unique setting for the civil wedding.

We perform weddings in the most charming city halls in Tuscany like the town hall of Siena, Florence, San Gimignano or Pienza, Certaldo, Lucca etc… The civil ceremony is performed by an Italian Registrar and by law there must be an interpreter who translates the vows and Italian Civil Code articles which give the married status, the service lasts about 30 minutes and a registry fee is usually required and vary from town hall to town hall.

Two witnesses, one per party, are also required and your family or friend, if they are of age, can act as your witnesses. After the ceremony, the bride and the groom sign the wedding certificate and receive the wedding licence in several copies which makes the civil wedding have legal value in Italy and in your origin country throughout the world. We will work with you to secure all the official paperwork confirming the town hall and working with Italian Consulates on your behalf.
