Pienza is listed in the UNESCO World Heritage and recognised therefore as a place of great value for all humanity and it is part of a territorial system called "Parco artistico, naturale e culturale della Val d'Orcia", which aims at preservation of the extraordinary artistic heritage of the five boroughs of Castiglione d'Orcia, Montalcino, San Quirico d'Orcia, Radicofani and Pienza.
Pienza is a peaceful town with a unique archaeological heritage located in Val d’Orcia, a wonderful untouched valley in southern Tuscany. Completely redesigned by Pope Pius II following the Renaissance philosophy, the town was built to create an ideal model of life and government on earth combining a peaceful and industrious civil harmony; this is why Pienza is also called the “utopic town”.The urban structure has almost unchanged since then: the centre of the town is the Piazza Pio II and all the principal monuments give on symmetrical to this central square: the Palazzo Vescovile, previously known as Palazzo Borgia, the Palazzo Pubblico, Palazzo Ammannati and the Cathedral with its huge stained glass windows; to the right of the Dome is the grand Papal Palace, Palazzo Piccolomini which was residence of the Pope.

Pienza, is ideal for lovers of history but also for authentic wines and food lovers: the red wines of the area and the famous Pecorino cheese are widely acclaimed as the finest in Europe. Not to be missed is the visit to the picturesque Via dell’Amore (Love street) in the heart of town which offers lovely setting for wedding pictures.
No traffic is allowed in the historical centre and this too make of Pienza the ideal setting for a walking through the cobbled alleys and stone archways like being back in the past…

Ceremonies
Civil weddings ceremonies are performed in the Palazzo Comunale, a 14th century building in Renaissance style located in the historical Piazza del Duomo. The Public Palace was erected at the same time as the Duomo's bell tower and it is the only building in the square with graphite decorations.
In the lower part there is a loggia divided by large columns and the façade is made by a compact wall interrupted by four large mullioned windows which illuminate the wedding hall and offer the view of the Dome. Weddings are performed in the Mayor room with impressive Gothic style furniture, historical heraldic devices, ancient chandeliers and beautiful frescoes.
Religious Ceremonies
Religious blessings can be held open air in the private
garden of the several wonderful castles, farmhouses and private villas
of the surrounding country area and private chapels of castles and private
venues offer the perfect setting for a romantic blessing religious ceremony.
