Volterra is an important city rich of Etruscan, Roman, Medieval and Renaissance art and architecture and it also well known for the handcrafts of alabaster and onyx. Volterra preserves the mysterious attraction of its origins with picturesque narrow streets, tower houses and turrets. Due to its location between two valleys the town is surrounded only by the silence and the piece of the countryside.

Civil Ceremonies at Palazzo dei Priori

The wedding hall of Volterra is called Palazzo dei Priori which is the one of the most ancient Town Halls in Tuscany: dating back to the 13th Century, the palace is located in the very heart of the Medieval city with the main entrance on the wonderful square still testimony of its splendid past.
The façade is enriched by coats of arms and maiolicas belonging to Florentine families.

Civil ceremonies can be held in the astonishing Council room with a cross vaulted ceiling, frescoes and antique furniture or in the more intimate "Saletta della Giunta", a Medieval jewel with wooden ceiling and wonderful paintings.
