The Medieval town of Montepulciano is located on a steep hill, completely surrounded by cypress trees, offering one of the most spectacular views of the Valdichiana and Valdorcia valleys. Located in Southern Tuscany, it is only a few kilometres from Montalcino. Montepulciano is internationally famous for the production of the red wine Vino Nobile, but the city itself is also a Renaissance jewel. With its tiny alleys, a wonderful clock tower and old stone houses, it is certainly a must see for anyone visiting Tuscany.
The magnificent main square Piazza Grande, set on the highest point of the town, boasts breathtaking views of the beautiful valleys. The Grand Square is surrounded by noble palaces, the wonderful well Pozzo dei Grifi and the Duomo cathedral. Walking outside the square that faces the Duomo and the ancient Palaces couples have a unique frame for memorable wedding photos.
Both inside the city and in the surrounding countryside, Montepulciano offers scenic venues for Religious Ceremonies, Blessings or Symbolic Ceremonies that can be held in one of the several Castles, Villas, Abbeys or Farmhouses that dot the enchanting landscape of infinite fields of wheat, olive trees, sunflowers and grape vines.
This is one of the main attractions of Montepulciano, thanks to its central tower reminiscent of Florence’s Palazzo Vecchio. Montepulciano's Renaissance-era Town Hall, overlooking Piazza Grande, has a beautiful inner courtyard and terrazza, as well as an elegant Wedding Hall furnished with antiques and original paintings.
The whole area offers unique Accommodation & Reception Venues: independent Villas with unique gardens and pools perfect for a wonderful Wedding Reception or simply for a relaxing dream vacation, ancient abbeys recently restored and transformed into Luxury Hotels and hundreds of small country Relais, B&B's and Farmhouses that take you back in time to old, ancient Tuscany.
